Food Drive at the Massage Studio

The government shutdown, although technically over, created an unusual hardship for our most vulnerable neighbors. Housing, utilities and healthcare premiums continue to rise as well. In response, I organized a food drive at the massage studios at the beginning of November to benefit our community food banks. The first delivery of 105 lbs of food was delivered Monday at the North End Food Pantry. During the coming weeks we’ll be collecting for Feeding Champlain Valley. A collection box is setup in the alcove outside the door of suite 224. There will also be a box inside. I ask that you please take a moment to go through your cupboards and donate your items when you come for your next massage. Or, simply do a drop-off anytime the buidling is open using the box outside our door.
A few guidelines to remember:
—Only unopened, sealed containers (marked, individual packets are ok)
—Items should be a few weeks within their expiration date
—No perishable or refrigerated products
—Holiday items (canned pumpkin, cranberry, etc) and healthy items
are especially appreciated
—For multiple items, please deliver in durable, handled
shopping bags you can leave for easy transport
—Donations larger than a grocery bag, text me at 802-355-5585 ahead of time
We plan to run the food drive at least through the holidays, but perhaps beyond depending on need and response.
So many of us have a great deal to be grateful for….giving our time and energy during this challenging period is a great way to support our community.
In love and light,
Rod
